Is it true that if I overdo alcohol only on weekends I don't put my health at risk?

Drinking excessively, even if only on weekends (binge drinking), does not prevent the damage caused by alcohol at all.

The "binge drinking", or "the" alcoholic binge ", involves the assumption in a short period of time of 5-6 glasses of alcohol (over 60 grams of alcohol), often of various types. It is most common among young people aged 18-24. The purpose of these "binges" is "immediate intoxication, regardless of the type of alcoholic drink used to obtain it. Binge drinking, as opposed to drinking to socialize, which exploits the initial and temporary disinhibitory and euphoric effect of alcohol, has a predetermined purpose intoxication, often sought as a response to discomfort according to anesthetizing purposes, of self-medication of possible individual suffering due to relational, family, school, emotional, work problems and the need to detach oneself from reality perceived and experienced as problematic.
Binge drinking is accompanied in young people who practice it, with worsening of social relations to the point of exclusion and marginalization, with violent behaviors both practiced and suffered, with road accidents and poor school performance. Furthermore, binge drinking is associated with a greater risk unprotected sexual intercourse, sexual violence and the contagion of sexually transmitted infections.
Unfortunately, the data from the Istituto Superiore di Sanità (ISS) show that in recent years this phenomenon is continuing to grow among young people (18-24 years), reaching, in 2015, as many as 22.2% of males and "8.6% of females with an overall tendency for the whole population to increase, characterizing 10.8% and 3.1% of males and females, respectively, of the population over 11 years of age. The finding of a high number of binge drinkers among minors under 18 poses serious problems of non-compliance with legality due to the non-application of the rules that prohibit the sale and administration of alcohol to minors under 18.
